With only a week away, I’m finally pulling myself together to pack for a month long trip. I don’t know if I’m more excited about the food, the new experiences or the people I’ll meet along the way. Fall has quite a few trends I’m excited about – most trends I’m going to only start wearing as we step into Fashion Week , while others take me a little more time to warm up to wearing. One that I’ve seen on from the runway that I really like is the mixed print and scarf trend.GET THE LOOK
Bold prints are a great way to flatter the body. A body conscious one tends to create a camouflage that’s great for hiding the bits, lines and handles we’re all a little self conscious to show. Bold scarf print dresses that are float away from the body, as seen on the runway for Alexander McQueen and Gucci, are also great options. They’re perfect, especially on days you need that extra boost of confidence.
TIPS ON WEARING THE SCARF & MIXED PRINT TREND
Pair or Layer with a Solid
If a print is too bold for your style, a great way to break up a print is to layer it with a solid. For example, if you have a spaghetti strap maxi mixed print dress, wear a t-shirt underneath and pair with sneakers or a simple pair of sandals.
Accessorizing with Complementary Colours
When a dress has multiple colours, I usually like to accessorize with one or more of the colours from the print. In this case, I wore a brown belt because there were notes of brown in the dress. I usually do not introduce new colours because the dress is already so busy and colorful.
Mixing Prints & Wearing Prints as Separates
Pairing a mixed print bottom with a different print on top is very street-chic. For example, a black and white mix print pant would go great with a white and black polka dot blouse! Once again, if too prints is too bold for you, going with a classic blouse, knit, turtleneck or even a chic shirt with great sleeves might be more for you.
Going all out
Unintentionally, the sock boots were the same as the mixed print print dress, and right now we’re seeing a lot of monochromatic looks, as well as full outfits in one colour or print.
These beautiful floral sock boots are from EGO Official. They’re a dupe of the Balenciaga ones seen on the runway. The fur clutch is also a dupe of the Fendi I’d seen from a year ago, but really couldn’t bring myself to spend $2000 on one I might not be wearing regularly for years and years. I often find dupes are a great way to figure out if you’d really get the cost per wear out of an item. If you wear a dupe often, the real thing is likely worth spending your hard earned cash on, especially if you wear something for years and years many times each season!
These sock boots are so pretty and are a total steal. I find this heel height quite comfortable. They’re true to size. If you’re a US 7.5, a US8 will likely be your best fit.
I’ve linked all the items below and some great mix print pieces below!
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, please leave me a comment below and let me know if this is a trend you’d wear for Fall!

Loved this dress the second I saw it on Instagram. It really reminds me of the famous prints on scarves and it actually looks sleek and extremely modern. Accentuated the waist well and the shoes complimented the look nicely. Great mix of prints <3! Can't wait to have coffees in Paris <3! xx
