Summer is winding down, which means it’s time to pull out all your Fall inspiration for the cooler season. I will admit that when Alessandro Michele stepped in as the Creative Director for Gucci, I was really shocked by the direction the brand was going. As someone who loves romance with a bit of edge, I wasn’t immediately sold, but with time, I grew to really love and appreciate the refreshing approach of what I tend to call “geek-chic” glamour. Pre-Fall ’17 had some great pieces that won me over. The bold patterns and sporty elements of Gucci really drew me in. Inspired by the mixed prints from the most recent collections, and the silver pleated from Fall/Winter ’16, this look came into fruition.

Fall and Winter collections always happen to be my absolute favourite, which is such a shame since I live in such hot climate. On a ridiculously humid day, I finally decided to wear this ensemble. The stripe sleeve top, combined with a mixed print pleated skirt (the silver one also inspired by Gucci, worn in Sicily here) that I paired with my Gucci belt and Bamboo Handle Dionysus, makes me regularly refer to this as my Gucci-Inspired look.
With all four major fashion weeks coming up, I have runway looks on my mind. I am thrilled and scared to announce that I’ll be taking on New York, London, Milan and Paris this year – thrilled because I have only dreamt of how amazing it would be to do this, and scared because I don’t have enough time to do what I need to do before I go, but will make the most of the time I have.
My philosophy is always to chase after your dreams and go after what you want in life. You never know when your last breath will be and if there’s ever a time, it’s now. I may never have a chance to do this again, and having done fashion weeks for years, I decided to take a leap of faith and to have no regrets. Life is short, and I am knocking this off my bucket list. I could love it, or hate it, but I will never have to look back and say what if about going.
With that said, time to share my affordable Gucci-inspired pieces! Dress the part, be your best self and chase after your dreams.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, please leave me a comment below. If you’re in any of the major 4 cities I’ve listed, let me know! I am always also looking for recommendations for any place I go, too!
