It’s not a holiday I anticipate or celebrate in a large way since I strongly believe in pampering yourself and doing special things regularly for your partner throughout the year. If there is one thing I truly love about Valentine’s Day, it’s all the great perks that surround it.

Let’s be honest, a few extra of these can be kept and given weeks later as a nice surprise. Your partner will appreciate the sweet thought, especially since it’s gifted “just because he or she deserves it”. Or, if you’re single, for yourself because you are worth it!

Romantic Getaway Packages (Even if You’re Single)
Great romantic packages will pop up for the holiday and they often include bonuses like free champagne, maybe breakfast in bed, free breakfast, discount on spa services or additional perks you wouldn’t find featured throughout the year. This is a great time to take advantage, even if you’re single After all, who says you can’t share champagne and breakfast with a sister or best friend? If you happen to be travelling during this period, you’ll see local spots offer some wonderful packages. Often, you can get a gift card or just book within a set period. If you cannot, I recommend you calling or writing the hotel or management to see if they’d honor it later into the year. Most of the time, they’d be happy to oblige.

Special occasions often lead businesses to push some additional advertising so you might find events and activities you wouldn’t normally see, and because they’re often competing with other nearby business, there are usually some fantastic deals to be found. It’s the perfect time to indulge in a great deal and buy into something you might want to do later into the year. I recently saw a hot air balloon ride deal pop up that I’d never seen before. Also, a dinner, champagne package on a ferris wheel with a set course dinner. These are things I would’ve paid full price for, but now won’t have to, and some of these don’t expire for months.
