When you think of the tropics, what do you wear? There are so many to choose from am I right? Aside from lace, bikinis, maxi dresses and caftans, I thought it’d be fun to mix it up with colour, and this time red and orange has my name written all over it. I didn’t forget to add a splash of blue with the 4th of July though.
If there is one thing I love besides lace, it’s pieces that move when I walk. I love a great jumpsuit and slim-fitting dress and brocade skirt, but a tropical destination was the perfect place to wear something more vibrant and fun.
After becoming certified beach bums for a day, Tom and I went to the Atlantis on Paradise Island to scope out all the attractions to see if it would live up to the hype. Verdict? Absolutely. Not only are there pools with lounge chairs at every corner, but you a huge range of activities on site. Snorkeling with baby sharks? Check. Tubing through clear tunnels in the enormous aquariums with millions of fish? Check. White sand beaches and numerous cabanas? Double check!
Wandering through the grounds was an adventure. Mesmorized by the larger than life aquariums, I walked around mostly with my mouth wide open from wonder. The child in me wanted to point at all the pretty fish, the pretty beaches and tug on Tom’s arm continuously as I made my through the grounds. Senses heightened and eyes wide, I knew I wasn’t going to be bored any time soon.
