One of the best things about the Fall/Winter season are the thousands of outerwear options you can get. If there’s one thing I really love to buy in the winter, it’s a coat. In Canada, I actually filled up a closet with coats. I think I was buying at least 2 coats every year. I owned furs, ostriage, tweed, houndstooth, wool, cashmere, leather, trench, raincoats and ones in various patterns – you name it, I pretty much had it. It’s a ridiculous addiction, so imagine what it was like for me when I moved to Los Angeles and was just itching for the cold weather to arrive. Every time it got a little cooler, Mother Nature herself must’ve laughed and decided to raise the temperatures again just a few days later. I mean, come on lady, give this girl a break!
I had rarely ever left the city to travel to colder destinations. We pretty much have a 5-6 month winter up in Canada, but seeing how I’ve relocated to Southern California, you really can’t go to too many destinations with it being hotter than you are at home. Since I was new to the state, my hubby and I took a trip along the coastal highway and made a stop into San Francisco.
On this trip, I happily tossed a few coats into the bag and this pearl one is my favourite one this season. I purchased it over 6 weeks ago and only just finally got a chance to wear it, but it was so worth it. I usually share my purchases and shopping escapades on instastories and Snapchat, so if you’re not following me, find me there.
The jacket has this intricate beading detail and reminds me of Balmain and Givenchy. The hand beading isn’t something that is inexpensive, but it definitely looks like a luxury brand item, and that makes it well worth the price. When you buy an intricate item like this, it’s so easy to elevate your casual pieces. I wear this with jeans and a plain t-shirt and instantly feel dressier, even though it’s a bomber jacket. Even when the bomber jacket trend ends, this is one I’ll be wearing over and over again.
I couldn’t believe the number of compliments I’d received on this piece. Even the staff at the luxury departments in Neiman Marcus were approaching me to compliment me on this piece – that’s how I know it’s a real keeper. This jacket sold out really quickly. I’ve listed a few bomber jackets below. Some are more expensive than others, but I’ve found a few more affordable options below for you.
