5 Timeless Things Every Person Should Invest In

In the midst of the huge wave of trends that wash over us every season, I had been thinking a lot more about going back to the more classic route. I have seen so many fantastic and beautifully intricate pieces and accessories be released, that I felt the best way to ever wear these trends is to balance it out with sleek or classic pieces that are worth keeping for the long haul. There are a few timeless pieces that are worth investing and I’m sharing 5 below.

Having moved a lot of my seasonal pieces into the back of my closet, it got me thinking of what was truly worth keeping and what needed to be donated. The ones I kept, of course are my favourite timeless pieces. They are the most versatile and can be worn year after year.

GREAT PAIR OF HEELS
A great pair of black pumps and nude pumps are always timeless, but I really enjoy a ones that really represent my personality. Whether it is a pump, slingback or a strappy heel, choose ones that are versatile, comfortable and ones you will covet and wear with multiple outfits. For me, my Valentino Love Lock strappy heels always offer a little bit of edge that I’m looking for, and remain a classic.

CLASSIC BLACK BAG
A great black bag is a classic piece. The fact that I can take this one from day to night is a bonus. I constantly rotate my bags and always go back to this one. Regardless of the label, choose one that has a classic shape, is great quality and have elements that elevate your outfit and style.

JUMPSUIT
I love a great jumpsuit. I have a simple white one which I wore here, a black Alice and Olivia one I wore here and the yellow brocade one recently here. This one I truly love for the lace detail cut out, ruffle shoulder and wide culotte leg. For me, a wide leg is elegant and chic. I’ve selected some great jumpsuits for you below.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS / LITTLE WHITE DRESS
When in doubt, wear a black dress. With the exception to being a guest at a wedding, I feel the same about the little white dress. There’s something so refreshing about all white, and when you work with a structured, well-fitting and quality monochromatic look, it instantly looks more expensive,

LEATHER JACKET
Finding the perfect leather jacket isn’t easy but when you find one, hold onto it. A well-fitted leather jacket is one you’ll wear on cold spring and fall evenings and layer over in the winter.

JEANS WITH THE PERFECT FIT
Once you find a great pair of jeans, it’s worth keeping for awhile. Finding a great fit isn’t easy, but amazing when you finally find a pair.
