We’re in the midst of the Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear runway season and just before fashion week, I always go back through all the upcoming Spring/Summer trends. Bold colours are a huge trend this coming season and with cold weather having left us in Florida and approaching for those north of us, I wanted to share some tips on adding bold colors to your wardrobe without feeling overwhelmed by it.
My style isn’t the most approachable, but it wasn’t always this way. I had an office job once and I know many of you either have full time office jobs. Being very overly trendy can be a huge challenge when it comes to dressing for work or packing luggage for a trip so I’m sharing some easy tips on remaining stylish with these easy ways on adding bold colours to your wardrobe.
Separates & Suiting
If you’re ready to wear monochromatic pieces, a dress with shoes that match as I had done here and here are quick ways to jump right into a trend featuring Pantone colours of the year. This season we’re seeing combinations of colours you wouldn’t expect. A great way to incorporate bold colors, especially for work or travel is to purchase it in a classic piece you love to wear. If you wear trousers a lot, purchasing them in a jewel tone is great ways to add bold colours very quickly to your wardrobe because you can mix and match separates. Monochromatic suits have been trendy for the last 2 seasons. I have a pink suit and a red suit. I can combine the two colours by wearing the red blazer and pink trouser, or vise versa as I had done at Paris Fashion week in this post here. I also love this red one from Each-Other here. In this post, I’ve worn just the red blazer. Don’t be afraid to get a coloured suit and wear the trousers and jacket separately until you’re ready to go all-in on a full body of colour.
Multiple bold colors combining red and pink, violet and blue, green and yellow are all huge. If you’re the type of person that likes to wear more basics and keep it safe one accessory with multiple colors is great. You can also incorporate headscarf, shoes or hat. I’ve added some yellow with my monster bag here and wore a great pair of black pumps, which are a dupe inspired by the runway this season.
One of my favourite ways to incorporate colour trends are through earrings. Often they’re one of the most affordable and fun. You can get so many different styles, and they’re easy to pack for a trip.
This outfit was shot at the Alfond Inn in Orlando. The food was so delicious and the property is beautiful. I can’t wait to return for brunch or drinks with girls. I highly recommend it when you visit. The staff is fantastic and the food was delicious.
