I’ve visited Miami and Fort Lauderdale a couple of times since arriving in Florida and on my last trip, I picked up a pair of shoes I’ve been eyeing for a very long time. Since it was a holiday, and I’d been saving for a big purchase, took the plunge on an a piece I found on a slight sale, and those my darlings, are these embellished snake heel Gucci Webby Quilted Leather Snake-Heel Mules.
If you watch my Instastories, you know I often share things I’ve just purchased and nice items I come across and love. From time to time, I share a great travel tip, a really cool item or an amazing deal, so if you haven’t already, definitely find me on Instagram because it can sometimes take me weeks to share a great outfit post with those items here, but I am quick to share them there.
What I adore about these Gucci Webby Mules is that they’re classic and simple in the front and a piece of art on the back, so I can wear these with jeans, shorts, skirts, trousers, jumpsuits, culottes and just about anything. As always, my advice for luxury is to go for what you know you’ll wear often and love. I love to wear high heels more than flats, so this was a perfect purchase for me. True to my ongoing affair for a great back moment, I wore all the surprises in the back – the embellished heels and the open back ruffle top.
I have had my eyes on embellished shoes since seeing Prada’s 2008 runway collection, but that style didn’t really stick. I’ve seen the trend come in and out, passing in time with various designers. Nonetheless, I splurged on a beautiful pair of black suede open toe Prada shoes with the back of the heel covered in crystal – one of the best luxury purchases I’ve ever made and a pair I still wear to this day This was only the beginning of my moderately healthy addiction to pretty embellished heels.
Embellished shoes have been around for awhile, but detailed heels in particular are a favouriet of mine. Now statement shoes, such as embellished shoes and detailed heels have become incredibly popular thanks to runway designers Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Miu Miu and Prada. After seeing them around for over a year, we can safely say that they’ll be around for awhile, so I’ve put together some beautiful shoes that are worth splurging on below. Some are luxury, some are as affordable as $30.
For those who, like me, sometimes hesitate and want to see if an item will work with their wardrobe first, I’ve included runway-inspired options below. Finally, I’ve added a few links on where you can get my Gucci Webby Heels, as they’re sold out everywhere online. Available in black here, mid-shin style in gold here and white here.
