Just a couple of years ago, we saw Cult Gaia’s bamboo bag hit the market. I snatched that up as soon as I could and before there was a wait list. I honestly had no idea that it would be such a popular bag for as long as it has been. It’s still such a beautiful piece that I enjoy taking with me to the beach (No sand in your bag after the beach? Sign me up, right?) When Vetement showcased these netted bags, it snowballed into a huge trend that many loved. And, why not? Something like this reminds me of shopping at a weekend market in a beautiful villa. How dreamy would that be? This trend is such a great one to bring to the beach and supermarket. You no longer have to dig through your bag to find what you need because you can see everything from the outside. It suits the transparency trend so perfectly.
The look of this new it-bag feels so approachable. It has various names: fisherman bag, net bag, mesh bag, reusable grocery bag and macrame bag. It’s on trend and price point is perfect for anyone on a budget – did I forget to mention it goes perfectly with summer outfits? Easy to roll up and pack on a trip, and you never feel guilty if it gets tossed around! Back in March, I decided to go for an elevated metallic version of this bag and picked up both a silver and gold one and they’re still available online. The satchel inside is great incase you do want to cover some of those private pieces you carry along with you and you can still exposing your sunnies, phone and anything else you’re willing to share with the public.
The metallic element of the bag does make it look dressier, so I felt comfortable wearing it with a mixed print Spring outfit. What do you think? I’ve linked some affordable options below.
