Every time I visit New York, I make a wild declaration of moving here. It has everything I want from my home city of Toronto, but so much more amazing food options, entertainment, fashion, sites, activities, flight sales, larger transit system. I have been to The Big Apple more than a dozen times and funny enough, still have not covered a lot of the touristy spots, but I absolutely love coming across cute cafes and finding little parks and scenic spots to unwind and take it in. On this trip, I popped into a few Instagrammable spots and just some great places where you could just grab a pastry or little bite, maybe a drink or coffee and enjoy the scenery and people watch. The bonus? They are lovely places to snap a few photos.

It always feels like Summer where I live, so you know it truly has arrived when you fly out to a place like New York City and see the sakura (cherry blossoms) in full bloom all around the city. I’ve lived in Japan and have seen sakura bloom all around Kyoto and various cities around the country, but there’s something special about New York architecture combined with bursts of these pretty pink blooms that truly brought out the biggest smile to my face. To me, it’s the perfect combination of nature and city – it certainly makes my heart swoon. Seeing that the weather finally has warmed up, I have partnered with Banana Republic to show you how to wear some wonderful pieces this Spring! Continue Reading…
The Spring & Summer It-Bag
April 30, 2018Just a couple of years ago, we saw Cult Gaia’s bamboo bag hit the market. I snatched that up as soon as I could and before there was a wait list. I honestly had no idea that it would be such a popular bag for as long as it has been. It’s still such a beautiful piece that I enjoy taking with me to the beach (No sand in your bag after the beach? Sign me up, right?) When Vetement showcased these netted bags, it snowballed into a huge trend that many loved. And, why not? Something like this reminds me of shopping at a weekend market in a beautiful villa. How dreamy would that be? This trend is such a great one to bring to the beach and supermarket. You no longer have to dig through your bag to find what you need because you can see everything from the outside. It suits the transparency trend so perfectly. Continue Reading…

You don’t need to spend a fortune on fashion to have an elevated wardrobe. I like to save for a few key luxury items that I can wear year after year, but understand what it’s like to be strapped for cash and only find new ways to wear what you have in your wardrobe (see blog post here) or only purchase items that are within a really small budget. It takes a few good things to create a luxurious look that you are happy with. Strike a perfect balance of high style and comfort and you know you’ve found the perfect look. Continue Reading…

What I’ve Learned About Success
April 12, 2018Success is a funny thing and it’s often so generalized that when mentioned in a group, some may think you already have it when you feel you don’t. We associate success with having everything in life that we often desire – a great career, a loving and healthy family, time to travel, riches and the list can go on. Continue Reading…
