For most of my years in high school and university, I almost never wore make-up. I put on eyeliner and foundation on occasion and just didn’t know any better about how to apply. IWth time, I really appreciated the benefits of enhancing my best features, and especially now that I travel as much as I do, I really look for a little bit of extra glow. For someone who travels so frequently or sometimes lacks the sleep they need, I often find myself working against time and stuck in airplanes for long hours. Being busy and travelling a lot pushes me off of a normal sleep schedule, and this causes my skin to look dull and tired. Having both great beauty & make-up products makes my skin look so much more alive again, so I am always looking for two things: a flawless finish and a really beautiful glow. You might remember that I regularly use CHANEL beauty products, particularly the perfect red lipstick here, lip glosses here and eyeshadow palette here (full blog post linked here) – these are items I regularly use on my face. For the last couple of years, I’ve added a highlighter to my make up routine and love using the CHANEL Le Signe Du Lion Illuminating Powder. It’s available in two shades: Rose and White and currently sold in their limited edition burgundy compacts for the holidays.
I absolutely love limited edition products because they feel so much nore special, don’t you?
I wear make up about 3 to 4 times a week and on those days, I do my usual routine, which you can see in my blog post featuring looks going from Day to Night with Chanel products.
When I am finished a full application of makeup, I always finish with a highlighter. Here, I used the Le Signe Du Lion Illuminating Powder in White over the top of my cheekbones, along the tip of my nose, cupids bow and chin. It’s very subtle on my skin, but I love it. With a smoky eye, adding it to the inner eyes makes the eyes pop. Then, when the light hits your face it just glows in all the right places.
The rose palette has just a light tint of pink in it which I used on the top of my cheekbones. On my skin tone, there isn’t a huge difference between the rose and white. I think both are beautiful, but when I travel, I really only pack one, and the white one is what I wear the most.
In Costa Rica, I kept my make up light, so I swept the palette with the brush and lightly dusted it over my face for an all-over glow. With a nice tan from the holidays, I’m so much more inclined to reach for CHANEL’s Le Signe Du Lion Illuminating Powder in Rose.
The palettes have the iconic majestic lion and since I am the same astrological sign of Gabrielle Chanel, I especially love this! As always, the packaging for CHANEL is classic and sleek, and feels extra special in the burgundy case.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Do you use an illuminating powder? Do you love limited edition packaging like I do?
