This week, I officially left California for an 8-week trip. My first stop is a visit to Toronto for some family time. August is the month of my niece’s birthday. Imagination, color and creative crafts are just some of the things that come to mind when I think of kids. They are always curious, and so innocence in everything they say or ask. Catching up with my niece is always entertaining. Have you ever heard a child ask you, “Why?” so many times? I am grinning ear-to-ear as I write this. They often say the darnest things, don’t they?
While my gym clothes probably would’ve worked well for an active day with kids, this white shift dress with lace overlay is a summery, yet feminine piece, and the additional pom poms offer some of that fun, youthful charm. It’s also a dress I would pair with a beautiful large rimmed hat, polaroid, my Gaia Ark bag (as seen in my Top 5 Things I do to Prepare for the Beach) and sandals for a trip off the coast somewhere foreign.
I paired some comfortable gold strappy sandals, so that I can kick them off at will to chase my niece just because I can.
If you’re looking to pick up a pom pom piece, I have a few great summer options from SheIn below:
Each of these summery pieces are affordable, and cost you less than $25. Links for each outfit are below.

Thank you SheIn for sponsoring this post.
Such a charming dress, love the youthful feeling the pom poms adds! To a kid’s party I’d probably wear a jumpsuit or romper! Something that’s comfortable, chic and also fun if you choose one in color/with a fun pattern! Xx

Love pom poms! They are so in this season. I’ve been wanting to make myself a pair of DIY pom pom sandals but haven’t gotten around to it. Am hoping to do it before summer ends 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration! xo, sharon

OMG. That would be sooo much fun! I can’t wait to see you do a post on that. I just bought a pair, but I feel like I should’ve made them instead. My sister was like… “Why didn’t you just make pom pom shoes? You can buy those at the craft store.” lol I was dying.
Xo,
Miki
Totally agree wit Sharon on the poms poms!!! I love them too! I saw a pom pom sandal on the Blonde Salad and I also love that pair! However I don’t get much chance to style them into my own closet.

That’s what I was thinking too. I love the pom style, but I don’t know how well it works with what I own right now. I might return the shoes. On the fence. Thanks!
