For the 4th day of Fashion Week, I decided to wear this new top I picked up while shopping around New York. I know it might seem strange to still be shopping for fashion week while it’s actually happening, but I had the unfortunate incident of having multiple packages stolen from my own front door, and wanted to complete a couple of looks I had in mind. I was so excited about this knit when I saw it. It looks expensive, yet classic and on trend. The stripe pattern is modern, but still gives sportswear vibes. As a child I was a tomboy who was often chose track pants over jeans, trousers or a dress. I still love fitness apparel, and while I still wear it regularly, I now prefer to go for a more elevated street-style sports-inspired look when I’m not headed to the gym. I often turn to my pearl trousers, which you’ve seen me style in my post on 3 Ways to Elevate Your Office Clothes. The split on the bottom and the side detail remind me of “tear-away” track pants I wore so often back in high school. (Yes, that’s the term we used back then.)
If you’re looking for a more sophisticated, yet trendy sports-inspired outfit I’d recommend pearl/studded trousers and this sweater in a heartbeat. They’re perfect for Fall and when it gets even colder you can wear them with a bomber jacket, fur-lined winter coat or faux fur coat.
I’d seen the single hand satchel in some of the Fall/Winter 2017 shows and went for a silver one because it reminded me of the futuristic/space inspiration from the Chanel collection. It still fits my camera and I use it both in the day and evening.
I’ve linked outfit details with some similar options for you below.
My trousers were originally from ZARA. They’re sold out online, but you can still find them on sale in some stores. Shop these fun Miu Miu sunglasses here. and more affordable found here. Since I’m in Europe right now, I’m getting links in EU, but will link more in USD for those in United States & Canada as soon as I get back home!
If you enjoyed this look, let me know in the comments below. If you have a favourite trend for Fall, I’d love to hear. I’ll be rounding up some of my favourite runway looks and trends from SS ’18 on the blog soon, so come back for a visit to see those.
