During my last couple of days of packing, Tom and I hopped into the car and drove to some of our favourite spots one last time in the city. When I first moved to Los Angeles, I would make my way up to Beverly Hills and order a Nutella latte and crêpe while sitting in the courtyard working away on my computer. while taking breaks, I’d steal glances at the fountain and people watch. It was a really nice guilty pleasure between hours and hours of work!
It had actually been over 2 months since I stopped into the area, so I took my time strolling and eventually started asking myself if I’d miss it, and of course there was a good chance I might. It’s funny to reflect on life when it takes a big turn. You start asking yourself the deepest questions, including what you loved, what you didn’t, what you would improve and what you want to achieve.
I met some great people who made my experience in LA really special and wish I had gotten more time to get to know them. Then there are the exceptional individuals who really made life in in a new city extra special. People come into our lives for a reason, and when one door closes, another opens. Life is what you make of it. If you want it to be exciting, you can find a way to provide yourself with a multitude of experiences. When you want something that you can’t find, you have to create it because if you wait, it may never come and you’ll look back to say, you wish you did.
One thing I want to do is make my Orlando home feel extra special for when Tom and I are in town, or when we welcome friends during their visit.
