After enjoying an extended summer over in Italy, I flew into Canada and was so happy to welcome Fall temperatures. One of my favourite things about the season are the beautiful leaves changing colours – from green to yellow, orange and red hues. There’s really nothing like sipping on hot cocoa, drinking seasonal lattes and lounging around in cozy knits, cashmere and wool pieces in cooler temperatures, right?
Every year, I pull out my favourite Fall and Winter items around September and one of the textures I rarely wear, but really love for this season is velvet. Thanks to the likes of Gucci, Aquazzura and other notable luxury designers, velvet it is especially fit for 2016 and has trickled its way down quickly to some high street fashion retailers.
For cooler Fall temperatures, I love a good blazer, and one that classic, yet on trend like this velvet one, is a great addition to the closet. For a little more street fashion personality, I’d add some fun pins to the breast or collar. In times that I want it to look more timeless, I can just remove them from the jacket. I paired the velvet blazer with a simple tee, an embellished shoulder bag inspired by Fendi, distressed denim and metallic heels. There are so many great velvet pieces for Fall.

I’m definitely a summer loving girl but what I do like about fall (or Autumn, as us Brits call it!) is the fashion & comforting food and drinks.
I like posts like yours, especially after seeing the horrid Vogue article on bloggers, I think it’s important to show that style does not need to come with a hefty price tag and you’ve just shown that!

Velvet is one of those materials that I love but I don’t own enough of! I don’t know why, but I never seem to see any velvet around when I’m shopping. Maybe I need to go more high end! I absolutely love your look in these photos. Velvet totally makes me think of winter. I remember when I was young and visiting my family in Connecticut and my uncle spilled Thanksgiving gravy all over my red velvet dress!! I cried so hard haha (I was like 10).
