Elevating Casual Sportswear with Tommy Hilfiger at Macys #AD

When it comes to fashion, is the dream not to wear something incredibly stylish, yet feels as comfortable as loungewear? If you’ve followed along on my Instagram Stories, you know I love a good gym session. I am one of those people that really enjoy working out and likes to dress up, but more often than not, you’ll find me wearing a casual tee. There is a fine line between looking like you’re going to the gym, and wearing athleisure as a stylish daytime outfit, and I’m partnering with with an amazing brand I love and grew up with, Tommy Hilfiger, to share a few great tips with you today on how to wear sportswear stylishly this summer.

There are so many options when it comes to shopping for athleisure. Here are my top 2 tips:

Strong Accessorizing Game
The difference between athletic apparel and great athleisure street style is the accessories. In many of my blog posts, I talk about the little details that elevate an outfit. The same applies to athletic apparel. You can elevate a casual look with amazing key accessories. Here, I am wearing a Tommy Hilfiger Cotton Embroidered Logo T-Shirt and Tommy Hilfiger Twill Mini Skirt – both of which are created exclusively for Macy’s. – both of which are created exclusively for Macy’s. The outfit can stay casual with a baseball cap, a cotton bag and a pair of sneakers, but if you like to elevate your look, select key accessories that look like do not have to look like they belong in the gym. I’m wearing a chic bag from my closet and a pair of my favourite heels. You wouldn’t wear a great pair of sunglasses while working out, but it would likely suit a chic and stylish sportswear look perfectly for the day. As it gets colder, I’d wear this outfit with my red cap (seen here) and thigh high red boots or white mid-calf boots (seen here and here)

Layering Up & Bold Beauty
I’m the type of person who wears dri-fit to the gym because I like to work up a big sweat session. When it comes to street style with sportswear, it’s much more about the details of each piece, and not necessarily function for fitness. If an outfit isn’t usually seen as a casual piece, it might have edgy or sportswear elements. A t-shirt is always seen as a casual piece. However a skirt isn’t, but one with pockets like this Tommy Hilfiger Twill Mini Skirt gives off an air of effortlessness about it. This leaves opportunity to elevate your style in various ways by layering up without looking like you’ve tried too hard. I have created an elevated look with accessories, but you can also layer up with a really amazing detailed or structured jean or leather jacket. When you have casual sportswear, you can also elevate your entire look with a great beauty routine, such as curls or even a messy bun finished off with a bold red lip.
