Viscaya Museum and Gardens Miami

Miami is one of those destinations I regularly return to. When I am saving both time and money for a long-haul trip, I take a few days and head down to Miami for a little bit of everything. It’s such a beautiful city to get your fill of art, sun, beach, music and entertainment. There’s really something for everyone. With family flying down to Florida for the holidays, we decided to take a road trip and beach hop. We spent a couple of days leading up to Christmas in South Florida and Miami was the perfect place to be. We spent a day on the beach and mid-afternoon, my brother suggested the Viscaya Museum and Gardens.

I honestly didn’t even know about this beautiful spot. There is so much of Miami I hadn’t seen yet – not because I don’t want to, but because I return almost every month and think I’ll have another chance to visit all the sites. The Vizcaya Museum and Garden is such a beautiful, expansive garden with a mix of Italian and French design. It feels like a completely different destination – a true getaway. The design is extraordinary. The beautiful bay feels like you’re standing in Venice. The garden makes you feel like you’re at a garden in Paris and the interiors take you back to various parts of the grandeur palaces seen in Europe. We spent almost 2 hours here, but I almost wish I could’ve laid out a picnic blanket, open a bottle of wine and lay there killing a few hours taking in the surroundings.

On this day, I wore a full ruffle sleeve dress. I love the references to Gucci’s Fall/Winter runway collection and you all know, I am obsessed with back moments as much as I am about plunging necklines, so when I saw this dress, I immediately fell in love with it. It’s truly perfect for a sunny getaway, and since I live in a place where winter hardly exists, it’s perfect to wear throughout the year. This dress makes me stand taller and feel so put together without much effort.
Remember, life is too short to wear things that make you feel anything less! People will always look and stare, so might as well make it worth their while!
