There’s nothing like a nice breeze rolling off of the ocean on a hot day. Santa Monica is one of my favourite places to be in Los Angeles. Not just because it’s the beach, but because we lived a few minutes walk from this one when we first arrived, so there’s always a bit of nostagia towards how life all began when I first arrived to the city that’s so well known for beautiful weather, pink skies and palm trees.
I can honestly say that I never expected Fall to be over 30 degrees celsius (or around 100 degrees Fahrenheit), but I will say that if you’re by the beach in most dry cities, it gets much cooler as night, and this usually prompts me to bring a long scarf, a knitted sweater or a lightweight jacket.
This weekend, as I got ready to head over to the beach, I pulled my gold and black reversible bomber jacket from Zaful out of the closet. It has this really beautiful embroidered detail on the front and back and it’s simply black and gold on the reverse side. I have not purchased anything reversible since I bought pants from Canadian retailer, Lululemon, and I absolutely loved them back then, so I was really excited about adding this piece to my closet – especially since I’d seen the reversible one from Topshop worn by Olivia Palermo months ago sold out in stores!
Pieces that are multifunctional can work with various outfits from your wardrobe. If you like to wear heels and dress more on the glam side, bomber jackets add a casual element that can bring a stylish effortlessness. If you want a sportier look, you can go all out and throw on dri fit top and pants and finish off with a pair of sneakers.
I’d definitely wear this more with my dri fit pants, a sports bra and sneakers to and from the gym or beach.
Will you be sporting a bomber jacket this Fall? How do you like to wear it? I’d love to hear.
