For my second season at Mercedes Benz’ New York Fashion Week, I was invited to attend Custo Barcelona‘s runway presentation. To me, attending shows are a real treat and I consider them to be very special. On the day of the show, I decided to walk from the subway station to its new location at Pier 59 Studios, which wasn’t the smartest idea I’ve ever had because of the sweltering heat! Yet, the moment the fashion show location comes into view, I get a rush and the heat falls to the back of my mind.
Custo Barcelona does an amazing job of staying true to its European roots and design aesthetic. I love the mix of prints and patterns. There’s a fun hippy edginess to his designs that feels different from American designers. The collection is bright and the beautiful patterns really draw you in.
I’m obsessed with all of these patterns. I would love for my closet to be full of them, just like this.
Check out the wide variety of colors & patterns from these behind-the-scene shots. And, don’t get me started on these shoes – they are so much fun!
