It would be an understatement to say that the 2020 was less than desirable for travel. As we see approach a light to the end of the tunnel, it’s a perfect time to ramp up your get-out-of-covid-jail-card resort-style Spring/Summer 2021 wardrobe.
Today’s editorial includes pieces that are glamorous, and perfect year after year. There have been some incredible brands creating really stylish, flattering, and effortlessly cool pieces that will have you excited about summer.
Aje makes incredible, flattering, well-tailored designes that make a statement. For Spring/Summer 2021, they dropped a collection with full skirts, flattering cutouts and voluminous sleeves. After being indoors for so long, it’s time to show a bit of skin and go big – sleeves big.
Pink is one of the colours I reach for the most. I’d seen the beautiful white dress from the last collection, but I was sold when I saw the pink one.
The statement sleeve, open back and cinched in detail at the most flattering part of the waist is what makes this piece a winner. It’s a subtle show-stopper – and by that, I mean it makes a statement, but is elegant, so be forewarned, as people will do a double-take or stop to compliment you. (I was stopped at least 5 times by passerbys complimenting the dress.)
This cropped Jacquemus underbust top is a summer favourite. Althought it isn’t an actual cut out, it gives the illusion of one when you wrap it around. Paired with shorts, skirt or trousers for an effortlessly put-together look. I styled these wuth Bottega Veneta Chain heels in white and a monochromatic palette for a polished look.
If you’re not ready to ditch the knitwear, look at Christopher Esber. The incredible attention to detail to design and tailoring really elevates his work to next-level luxury. You know a Christopher Esber piece when you see it. One of my favourite pieces would have to be the crystal-back and loop-back blazer.
Cult Gaia started off bit with the summer It-Bag back in 2015, and has long sustained its stake in the fashion market with statement bags, accessories and beautiful Ready to Wear pieces that make you want to jump on a plane and go to your next destination immediately. I’d been an early adopter of the brand when they launched their Ark bag, and made multiple purchases. this season it was a no brainer to buy a couple of dresses from their eptonomous label. Above, I’m wearing my favorite cut out dress from Cult Gaia. It’s also available in white.
I already loved H&M before, but they really stepped up their quality and designs the last couple of years with their smaller-run capsule collections and collaborations. This high-cut bodysuit gives the illusion of a cut out, even when worn with high-rise trousers. I paired these with wide, pleated leather pants by Stand Official from Net-A-Porter.
I have a few more pieces on the way for summer. If you enjoyed this post and want to see an update on new pieces on their way, let me know. I’d love to hear which of these are your favourites, and what’s on your list for this summer.
