Sunny Staycations

What do you do when you’re always itching to travel and don’t want to stop? There’s really two good answers for that: 1) Book a trip or 2) Have a staycation.  Tom and I had our own little day of exploration and wandered around Laguna Beach, and since we’re near the ocean, we spend a lot of time walking along the actual beach.  It reminds of me that corny phrase I enjoy romantic walks along the beach you’d jokingly giggle about when thinking of finding “The One”. Yet, many years after hearing that phrase, I can’t believe I am admitting that we really do!Laguna Beach is a cute area with shops, restaurants and bars. Sometimes I walk by a shop and can’t help but stick my head into the window to see what delightful little surprises I’ll find inside. Beautiful patios, pastry shops, ice cream parlours and mom and pop shops can sometimes be found tucked away in little cobblestone alleyways, and such a delight to discover as you wander the streets. If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ll have seen some of the spots Tom and I walked by including the cute little Italian restaurant we dined at with the pretty tiled fountain and of course, the Montage resort, which has a breathtaking view of the pool and the water and always has a pianist with an incredible voice playing the most beautiful soothing music that can put you in the most relaxing state.

Tom and I sat by the water during the night of a full moon to watch the sun create the most stunning yellow and orange streaks across the sky before it disappeared into the horizon.

For this season, off the shoulder is calling me and I am obsessed with the various styles and options available. I love the crochet detail on this all white one that I’m wearing.  Some of you might still be trying to find one that is best suited for you, either because the fit isn’t quite right, you don’t want to bare all both your shoulders, or don’t like how it squeezes your arms.  Here are a fe great variations I’d wear and would recommend for those who are still on the hunt for something a little different, but still on-trend.  I also included the playsuit below.
