A lover of sweet indulgences, flavorful sauces, pretty interiors and everflowing new experiences, I threw myself into the long list of restaurants for LA Restaurant Week and found Le Petit Paris. Fully prepared to cross this one off my personal list of LA spots, I asked Kelsie of Design Life Diaries if she’d join me at this particular restaurant for our foodie adventure.
When Le Petit Paris first opened back in January, I RSVP’d for their grand opening. I didn’t know anyone when I first arrived to LA, but with a history of attending and planning events, I felt comfortable heading out out on my own. A week before the opening, I met a really lovely woman who invited me to a travelling art show, so I said À bientôt to Le Petit Paris and made sure to add it to my ever growing list of pretty spots in the city.
If you ask Tom, I’ve mentioned wanting to visit Le Petit Paris numerous times. My recollection of the beautiful French interiors, colonial decor and grand staircase from the photos I’d seen back in January made quite the impression. When we finally arrived, Kelsie and I noticed a modern twist on French decor. This high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, velvet merlot banquettes and the detailed gold columns all added to the ambiance. It’s picture-perfect for a date with a beau, or an evening out with great girlfriends! I would’ve loved to have seen the infamous French bistro chairs instead of the ones in the restaurant, as they always remind me of people watching in Paris. I mean, who doesn’t want to be taken back to special moments in Paris?
Le Petit Paris’ special menu was equally eye-catching. Salmon tartar, duck confit, curry muscles, beef carpaccio and of course, dessert. Miki à la Mode was not chosen at random. Ice cream is my favourite food, making the French apple tart à la mode perfect for me. After dining and enjoying a couple of drinks, we stopped into their cute little shop La Boutique where they sell French macarons, cakes and imported European olive oils shaped like parfums.
If you rarely ever try new restaurants, cafes or culinary experiences, city foodie events like happy hour and LA Restaurant Week are excellent reasons to treat yourself without the lavish cost. I’m a strong believer in obtaining all the wonderful things life has to offer without having to always spend a fortune. It’s about striking balance. While not every great experience can always be done on a dime, many can. You just have to keep an eye out for them. LA Restaurant Week happens bi-annually and is still going on. If you live in the area or are visiting during this event, it’s definitely worth checking out.
For this lunch date, I dressed in flirty ruffles, feminine laser cut heels and a silk scarf tied around my neck. I balanced the softness by contrasting edgier pieces, including distressed denim and, another favourite hand bag of mine, the Valentino Rockstud. Kelsie wore a really cute Parisian-inspired outfit. We chatted for hours at the restaurant. She’s a stylish woman with the most incredible hair and has great home DIYs available on her blog at Design Life Diaries.

I love Paris. Such a pretty place to be. It’s nice to stop into a place that is inspired by the city and cuisine. French sauces are so good. My dad used to make a bit of French cuisine when I was a child and I loved it. If you go, let me know how you like it. 🙂

I love trying out new restaurants! I am a bit of a foodie in that sense. This one sounds and looks so amazing! When I was in LA a few months ago I got to try an awesome new restaurant, but I totally forget the name of it now. Before we headed there I had a good amount of wine so that probably didn’t help! Hope you have a great weekend. 🙂
