This last week I received a beauty product called the Titan by Silk’n Beauty Technology to review. Since I’ve been interested in anti-aging products lately, I thought I’d give it a try and give you some of my first impressions.
The Titan claim to tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, fine lines around the eyes, reverse sun damage and help eliminate age spots. Since I lived in Florida where summer happens to have tropical climates year round, I’m pretty sure the extra lines I received under my eyes last year might’ve come from some of that. At this time, I cannot say that I have any results from it since it requires 8 to 10 weeks minimum before you see any real results.
Back when I lived in Canada, I used to get a facial every 2 weeks, so I am familiar with red and blue light therapy and it doesn’t bother my skin.
At first glance, the case is nice and sleek. It feels sturdy. It comes with the Titan anti-aging machine which is sleek and easy to hold. As many of you know, I’ve used a similar laser in the past and it took some time to get used to it. The competing brand left some redness, which prompted me to believe this would do the same, but this was much gentler on my skin. It feels warm and doesn’t sting or zap my skin. I started on the lowest setting but I think I can start at level 2 or 3 just fine. To get the best results, they recommend you get to level 6.
It didn’t really leave any redness on the lowest level, which was great because who wants to go out with big red lines on your face? You’re supposed to spend 10 minutes on each area of the face, which means you need to invest some time massaging your face. Personally, I don’t mind this. I catch up on HGTV and it keeps me from being on my phone non-stop before I try to get to sleep.
The box says the light therapy encourages your skin to bring back elasticity of the skin inside-out, and rejuvenate collagen and elastin fibers. It comes with a manual, but I always prefer videos, so you can definitely find some on their YouTube Channel.
Overall, I like that this is easy to pack and take on a trip if I am hitting the road. I would have also like to have seen the Silk’n Paraben Free Slider Gel – Water-Based, Hyaluronic Gel fit in the case as well. The sleek design is a nice touch. Since I have acne along the jawline, I don’t use it there, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it over your acne. It’s just my personal preference. It feels nice against the skin compared to other devices I’ve used. I will keep using it, but keep in mind that results vary. Read the instructions, watch the videos and build up to level 6 on the device so that your skin gets used to the heat and doesn’t turn red because your skin hasn’t adapted to the device yet. I like the design, and I’m hopeful I’ll have reduced fine lines in 8 to 10 weeks.
